About Me
I grew up in Springfield, Virginia and went to the University of Virginia for my B.S. in EE. (Wa-hoo-wa!) I lived in Washington D.C. around Dupont Circle between '87 and '89 while working for Mitre in McLean VA. After completing my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at CMU in Pittsburgh, PA, I moved out to CA. I lived in Palo Alto for a year before making the leap into San Francisco.
My first job in the bay area was with NASA AMES as a post-doctoral research scientist in the fields of programming models and compiler algorithms for parallel supercomputers. From there, I found a position at a small company named Rambus, who I believed at the time was solving the right problem: memory bandwidth! I'm proud to say that the memory chips I have worked on are in the Sony Playstation2 and Playstation3.
I'm currently investigating how the internet will evolve to connect more things, as well as people.
